Samsung begins to roll out June Android security update
Samsung has begun to push the June Android security updates to its device line-up, even though we're still a couple of days away from the month itself. At this point, it appears that the Galaxy S7 edge is the first and only recipient, though we'd expect others to follow in the very near future.
This isn't the first time that Sammy has jumped the gun and released Android patches apparently ahead of time. Last month, the company furnished some Galaxy Note 4 owners with the May security enhancements. This time around, the edgy flagship seems to have won the updates lottery, though not all owners will receive the security bump immediately.
Those carried by Orange in Spain are reportedly seeing the June patch. Unlocked models of the S7 edge, along with the wider Samsung Galaxy family, will probably be drafted into the bonanza pretty soon as well. As ever, you can try and help things along by opening up the Settings app on your device, scrolling down to About device and checking manually for updates.
