Samsung: We are very committed to our Windows Phone 7 devices
Omar Khan, the Chief Strategy Officer at Samsung Communications America, has dispelled the rumors that the company doesn't look at Windows Phone 7 devices as a priority. He reaffirmed the "lock step" commitment by mentioning the traditional close ties with Microsoft that brought to the world successful handsets like the Samsung BlackJack and the Omnias. A few days ago another Samsung executive mentioned at IFA 2010 that they see some "specialized demand" for WP7, but will focus mostly on Android instead.

Mr Khan went on to clarify that despite Microsoft's requirements towards the hardware and design of the WP7 handsets, Samsung will be able to differentiate them deep enough: “What I can tell you about Windows phone 7 and Samsung is that we will bring some of our hardware differentiation and a lot of the capabilities that we bring to a product perspective and a differentiation perspective to Windows Phone 7.”

Judging from that black plastic slab of a phone that the rumored Samsung Cetus would be, he probably means Samsung's next WP7 handsets.
