Samsung Pay support finally coming to Gear S3 in the UK

It looks like Samsung has finally managed to provide Gear S3 owners with what's been promised a few months ago: Samsung Pay support. Back in May, Samsung announced that its mobile payment service is available in the UK, but the majority of Gear S3 users could not take advantage of it.

Apparently, only those Samsung Gear S3 smartwatches imported from other countries where Samsung Pay has already been launched were compatible with the service. Well, after two months of waiting, it appears that all Gear S3 smartwatches in the UK now fully support Samsung Pay.

A new update is now rolling out to Samsung Gear S3 wearable devices in the UK, and the only thing mentioned in the changelog is Samsung Pay support. Unfortunately, a similar update is not yet available for Samsung Gear S2 units as well, even though the smartwatch should be fully compatible with Samsung Pay.

In order to start using Samsung Pay on the Gear S3, you will have to register your credit or debit card and authenticate your ID. Of course, you'll have to set-up a security pin as well. After you've done everything that's required, you will be able to hold the watch with the face towards a payment terminal to make use Samsung Pay.
