Samsung Pay celebrates its first birthday by adding coupon support; win a Gear S2 smartwatch
Samsung Pay celebrated its first birthday by announcing a new feature. Users of the mobile payment service can now store coupons and redeem them as part of a purchase made using the feature. Samsung has also nailed down a deal with financial institution Capital One, which was one of the few big financial institutions that Samsung had not been able to include with Samsung Pay, until now.
In addition, to mark the feature's birthday, Samsung is offering 365 Gear S2 smartwatches valued at $299 each. The total amount of watches to be won equals $100,000. To enter, send an original emoji birthday greeting via Twitter to @SamsungPayUS. You must agree to follow this account and allow it to be a follower of your Twitter account. The contest is open to U.S. residents who own a Samsung device compatible with Samsung Pay. Entries must be received before the calendar flips to Thursday morning on the East Coast of the U.S.
Besides allowing users to store and redeem coupons, Samsung is adding a cloud storage feature that allows those switching from one compatible Samsung phone to another, to quickly move over his/her Samsung Pay account.
