Samsung Omnia II to get Windows Mobile 6.5.3 in May
Good news for Samsung Omnia II users! According to SamsungHub, Samsung Sweden has confirmed that the Windows Mobile powerhouse will get a firmware update to version 6.5.3 of the operating system in the second half of May. In addition to the new OS version, the update should also improve the overall responsiveness of the smartphone. All units shipped after the update has been rolled out should also come pre-loaded with the latest version of the OS.
In case the name Samsung Omnia II now sounds like a distant memory to you, let us recall some of its specs and see that it's not really dated yet: 3.7-inch resistive WVGA AMOLED screen, 5MP camera with DVD-quality video recording, 800MHz processor, GPS and Wi-Fi.
