Samsung: 'Note 8 will feature more advanced, richer multimedia functionalities'

Tucked amidst promises for 7nm chips next year, and shareholder dividend distribution, Samsung did spill a few words over the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 phablet during its record earnings call yesterday. As a reminder, the latest info on the Note 8 is that it will sport a 6.3" screen with 18.5:9 aspect ratio, the newest Snapdragon or Exynos chipsets, 6GB RAM, and a 3,300 mAh battery.

Samsung will have to make sure that everything goes smooth this time around, so the focus will likely be on testing the new chassis design and battery pack, but it will also have to woo users back to the Note line. Thus, a Samsung exec didn't hesitate to extol the virtues of the line, and promise more wonderful things to come with this year's edition:

Now, what would those extra media features be, besides some sort of HDR screen certification, or the obligatory S Pen sensitivity enhancements, remains to be seen, but Samsung's DJ Koh did promise that he will "bring back a better, safer and very innovative Note 8," too, so we can't wait to see what Samsung's effort will bring to the Note line this year. Thankfully, there isn't much more time to wait.
