Samsung Gear Sport could be the first wearable device powered by Tizen 3.0 OS

Samsung is expected to launch a new hybrid smartwatch sometime this year, but a full-fledged Gear S smartwatch has been confirmed for unveiling on August 30. The former is also known as Gear Sport and it's supposed to combine elements of Samsung's Gear S smartwatches and Gear Fit fitness bands.

As a matter fact, Samsung Gear Sport has already been certified by FCC (Federal Communications Commission), so it's just a matter of time before the South Korean company makes it official.

Although not much is known about the wearable device, we now have one piece of information that wasn't available before. It appears that the Samsung Gear Sport might be the first smartwatch powered by Tizen 3.0 operating system. The Gear Sport was recently listed at Wi-Fi Alliance and the data confirms it will run Tizen 3.0 OS.

The question is whether or not the next Gear S smartwatch that Samsung plans to introduced on August 30 will be powered by the same version of Tizen. Could it be that Samsung will announce the Gear Sport later this month, or it will be a completely different wearable device? I guess we'll be able to learn more in less than two weeks.
