A wearable device called the Samsung Gear POP has just received its Bluetooth certification from the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group). The product carries an SM-R600 model number, and features Bluetooth v4.2 on board. Back in May, we told you about a pair of wearable fitness products that Samsung was developing. One was the aforementioned Gear POP while the other was called the Gear Fit Pro. Both products are believed to have the Tizen OS pre-installed.
The Bluetooth SIG has the Gear POP listed as a mobile device. The product could turn out to be more fitness tracker than smartwatch which means that the deployed sensors could monitor body temperatures, heart rates, oxygen levels, sleep rates and other fitness related data on a always-on basis.
Since the imminent launch of the Samsung Gear POP never materialized after being brought up in May, there really hasn't been any further word about the device up until now. Now that the Gear POP has received its Bluetooth certification, that is one less item that Samsung has to worry about for the product's "To-Do list" before Samsung makes the Gear POP official.
