Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 gets certified, expect it to launch very soon
We reported a few months ago that the sequel to the entry-level rugged tablet by Samsung, the Galaxy Tab Active is in the works and that it might be coming soon. Well, it looks like the slate is now one more step closer to release, although we doubt Samsung will hold a launch event just for the Galaxy Tab Active 2.
The US regulatory commission (FCC) has just certified Samsung's Galaxy Tab Active 2, which goes by model numbers SM-T390 (LTE) and SM-T395 (Wi-Fi only). For the time being, it's the Wi-Fi only version that got approved by the Federal Communications Commission, but we're confident that when Samsung will launch the tablet, both models will be available.
There are no additional details about the slab's specs, so we're going to rely on what's been leaked back in June. If the report is any accurate at all, then the Galaxy Tab Active 2 will pack a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB RAM, and a decent 4,450 mAh battery.
Even though we know nothing about its price, rumor has it Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Tab Active 2 in Europe and Latin America by the end of the year.
