Samsung Galaxy S8 Canadian release date allegedly confirmed
Just last week, we told you that the Samsung Galaxy S8 could be available to buy starting April 28 - a week later than previously assumed. Now, BGR reports that an important "supply chain source" confirmed this release date, though only for the Canadian market.
If the S8 is hitting shelves in Canada on April 28, it's very likely that this is also the smartphone's launch date for the US (via all major carriers). We're saying this because, as you may remember, last year's Galaxy S7 series was released on the very same day (March 11) in the US, Canada, and many other markets.
Of course, before the Galaxy S8 is launched, Samsung needs to properly announce it. And it will do that during an Unpacked event that the company has scheduled for March 29 - in two weeks' time.
The S8 series will most probably include two smartphones (at least for the beginning): a 5.8-inch Galaxy S8, and a 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+. Leaked images and renders are suggesting that the two handsets will have similar designs, including dual curve displays and fingerprint scanners on the back. You can find out much more about what the devices are expected to offer by checking out our Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ rumor review.
