Two days after Samsung introduced the Samsung Galaxy S5, T-Mobile announced that a record 100,000 people had pre-registered for the device. That figure has now been updated and is up to 300,000 pre-registrations. Now keep in mind that there is nothing binding about this. T-Mobile is collecting names and contact information so that they can alert potential purchasers of the device when it is taking pre-orders for the phone.
The big question is how many of these pre-registrations turn into actual orders for Sammy's latest flagship Android smartphone. If anything, it shows that there remains plenty of interest in the line.
Without offering subsidized pricing, T-Mobile has plenty of options available to it when it comes to deciding what to charge for the phone. One thing it can play around with is the down payment and while everyone loves to see that part of the equation as low as possible, that will result in higher monthly installment payments.
