Samsung Galaxy S4 coming to MetroPCS with announcement next week
A video posted on Vine by MetroPCS reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is coming to the pre-paid carrier next week. The nation's fifth largest carrier was recently acquired by T-Mobile. The 6 second video shows a Samsung Galaxy S III followed quickly with +1 = ?. It doesn't take a trig major to realize that MetroPCS is talking about the Samsung Galaxy S4. Posted on the tweet that contained the Vine video was the news that a major announcement was coming next week from MetroPCS.
Based on the model that we saw at the FCC, the version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 that MetroPCS will offer won't feature HSPA+, but will support 4G LTE connectivity. T-Mobile's plan is to eventually get Metro customers to migrate over to T-Mobile. The latter said last month that it is ahead of schedule with the migration. And with 60% of MetroPCS customers upgrading to a new phone every year, the migration should be complete by 2015. But before it is done, and two carriers become one, Metro PCS customers will get a chance to sport their own Samsung Galaxy S4.
