Samsung Galaxy Note 8 might be announced in late August, ahead of the iPhone 8
The moment Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, the rumors for its next flagship started pouring in. Most of the reports claim that the Galaxy Note 8 will be coming with a dual-camera setup, and a rather big 6.3-inch edge-to-edge screen.

However, if the Note 8 does indeed feature 6.3-inch display, and it retains the 9:18.5 aspect ratio, introduced with Samsung's current flagships, there will not be much that will differentiate it from the Galaxy S8+. Samsung might have to pack a lot of extra features to make the Note 8 relevant, especially considering that the device is rumored to come with the same type of Infinity Display as the Galaxy S flagships.

We can safely assume that Samsung knows what it's doing though, especially considering that according to latest rumors, it's planning to unveil its new Galaxy Note in late August. This will put its announcement ahead of that of the new iPhone 8, which should give Samsung a bit of an edge in the race against its main competitor.

Usually, Samsung announces its new Notes at IFA, one of the biggest expos for consumer electronics. This year, the show will start on 1 September, so it's very likely that the South Korean tech behemoth will officially unveil its Galaxy Note 8 a day or two before that, and offer consumers a hands-on experience at IFA.

Only time will tell whether or not the new rumor is true, but it certainly sounds plausible.
