Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro unveiled; updated Galaxy J5 (2017) adds more RAM and storage
It may be the Fourth of July in the states, but in other countries it is just another working day. For example, Samsung today introduced the Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro. This is essentially an updated version of the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017). Where the latter has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage, the Galaxy J5 Pro will sport 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The remaining specs are the exact same, including the availability of a 256GB capacity microSD slot for those who fancy a bit of additional storage.
That means that the device will feature a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a 720 x 1280 FHD resolution. The Exynos 7870 SoC powers the handset and carries an octa-core 1.6GHz CPU, and the Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. Both the back and front-facing cameras weigh in at 13MP. Keeping the lights on is a 3000mAh battery. The fingerprint scanner is embedded in the home button, and Android 7.0 is pre-installed.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro will be available in Thailand, priced at 9,990 Thai Baht. Based on the latest currency exchange rate, that is equivalent to $294 USD. No word yet on whether this model will be found elsewhere.
