Back in September, we told you to expect Samsung to roll out the Galaxy C5 Pro and Galaxy C7 Pro models. Now, with speculation that the pair will be officially announced next month by the manufacturer, the Galaxy C5 Pro has appeared on Zauba. The latter, for those unaware, is a website in India that tracks imports into and exports out of the country. Often, interesting tidbits about an upcoming device can be discovered by scanning the site.
Last Friday, it turns out that the Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro was the subject of a Zauba post. Two units of the SM-C5010 (which is the model number of the handset) were shipped into the country for R&D Purpose and Evaluation. The shipped handsets are not for retail sale. While by no means an indicator of the phone's exact retail price, Sammy valued the pair at the equivalent of $300 USD each.
Just a few days ago, some information about the phone was discovered on weibo. The talk there is that the Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro will launch with the Snapdragon 626 chipset driving the unit. This is the upgraded version of the Snapdragon 625 SoC, and includes an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 506 GPU. It also provides 10% faster performance than the chipset it replaces.
