Samsung Galaxy A8 launches in South Korea on July 24th
Last week, Samsung introduced the thinnest smartphone it has produced to date, the 5.9mm (at its thinnest) Samsung Galaxy A8. At the time, Samsung said that the first country to receive the phone would be China. On Monday morning, Samsung announced that the svelte handset would be heading to South Korea with a launch scheduled for July 24th.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 will be available from SKT in white and gold, priced at the equivalent of $563 USD. The phone features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 386ppi. Driving the Galaxy A8 is the 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC, which contains an octa-core 1.5GHz CPU and the Adreno 405 GPU. 2GB of RAM is inside along with 16GB/32GB of native storage. If you need moire memory, you can use the 128GB capacity microSD slot.
So there we have it. China and South Korea are the first two countries to get the Samsung Galaxy A8. Now the question is, where will it launch next?

The 16MP camera that adorns the rear of the phone comes with an f/1.9 aperture, allowing users to take quality snapshots in less than optimal lighting conditions. On the front of the Galaxy A8 is a 5MP shooter for selfies and video chats. Keeping the generator humming is a 3050mAh battery, and Android 5.1 is pre-installed. And we shouldn't leave out the fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button. While pricing wasn't mentioned, earlier rumors had the 16GB version of the handset priced at the equivalent of $515 USD and the 32GB model tagged at $564 USD.
