Samsung GALAXY Nexus might launch on December 8 along with the Motorola DROID 4
Undoubtedly, one of the hottest topics in the Android community is the U.S. release of the Samsung GALAXY Nexus. The beast of a smartphone is already available in GSM flavor through third party retailers, but its LTE version has yet to land in Verizon stores across the country.
Well, the launch of the GALAXY Nexus for Verizon might be scheduled for December after all, or at least that is what the folks at Business Insider are saying. Allegedly, Samsung has confirmed to them that the smartphone is to be released on Big Red next month, yet the exact date and its retail price have not been disclosed.
Although no proof has been provided in support of their words, a leaked insider document, supposedly coming from Verizon's internal system, makes their claim a bit more credible. The leak has been obtained by Droid-Life and shows that the Samsung GALAXY Nexus is to launch on December 8. However, the Motorola DROID 4, which is a smartphone that is yet to be announced officially, will supposedly debut on this very date, if the leaked document is to be believed. Codenamed Maserati, the DROID 4 is rumored to come with a 4-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display and to have a styling reminiscent to that of the DROID RAZR. Besides, it is expected to be the very first smartphone in the DROID lineup with both a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and LTE connectivity.
Of course, as the case is with all leaks and rumors, do not be surprised if any of the above information turns out inaccurate. It would probably be a good idea not to get too excited about it until Verizon comes out with an official statement on the matter.
