Samsung France: Android 5.1.1 rollout for the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is imminent
A tweet sent out by Samsung France indicates that Android 5.1.1 is about to get pushed out the door for the Samsung Galaxy Alpha (SM-G850). The French arm of the Korean manufacturer says that the OTA update is imminent, although in some regions the process will be slowed down by carrier testing of the new Android build.
The arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha heralded a new premium design for Samsung's Galaxy handsets, coming after the Samsung Galaxy S5 disappointed many with a plastic build. Besides the metal build, the Galaxy Alpha is also svelte as it measures 6.7mm thin.
While Android 5.1.1 is on the verge of rolling out for the Galaxy Alpha, keep in mind that as we mentioned above, carrier testing can slow down the actual release of the update. We still suggest that you keep an eye peeled for the notification that the update has arrived. When you are ready to download and install it, we recommend that you hook up to a Wi-Fi network and make sure that your battery is at least 50% charged.
