Sagem's PUMA 2 & Netribe phones expected to feature Android
Sagem made a splash during the most recent MWC when they unveiled their sports oriented PUMA phone, but they're already in the works of coming up with the next incarnation of the PUMA phone. Sagem plans on releasing the PUMA 2 phone some time in 2011 and will feature a customized PUMA interface running on top of Android. Now that it's looking to make the switch to the growing popularity of using Android, it'll offer some easy access to social networking, news, and shopping. Interestingly enough, the PUMA 2 phone is speculated to be more inexpensive than the original Java based PUMA phone (the PUMA phone retails for about $500). The other phone Sagem is expected to launch very soon is the Netribe Android powered smartphone that'll pack a QVGA touchscreen and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The rendered images provides an insight on what to expect with the device as it's set to become available for approximately €115 ($150) some time in the third quarter of this year. Although it may not exude the high end specs we've seen of late of other devices, it could easily become the perfect solution for any consumer interested in getting their feet wet in Android.
