Rumor says Samsung Gear S3 to be revealed at this year's IFA
So, the Galaxy Note 7 is about to be revealed next week and you might be wondering – will Samsung have anything new to show at the upcoming IFA event? The annual consumer electronics event, held in early September, is the place where Sammy usually took the stage to reveal its super-powered phablet. However, since last year, the company has moved the announcement date to August, reportedly to gain some breathing room before Apple launches its ever-popular iPhone in mid-September. Well, Samsung may still have something to unveil at the 2016 IFA — a new Gear S3 smartwatch, succeeding last year's Gear S2.
About a month ago, we caught a glimpse of a couple of sketches for a special limited edition version of the watch, beautified by none other than De GRISOGONO – the same company that partnered with Samsung for the Gear S2 limited edition. The drawings depicted a circular watch, suggesting that the new Gear smartwatch will, again, be round in shape.
Today, SamMobile, a tech blog that's usually pretty on point with its Samsung rumors, confirms in full certainty that there will be a Samsung Gear S3 at this IFA, and it will feature a rotary bezel, just like the one on the Gear S2. And, while the leak doesn't specifically say that the watch would be circular, we can't imagine a rotary bezel would work great on any other shape.
Do you own a Samsung Gear smartwatch of any generation? Would you be getting the next one?
