Better head for the salt shaker right away with this story. According to a Foxconn insider, Apple will have a third iPhone model to unwrap next month in addition to the expected 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models. This new iPhone model will carry a 5-inch display. A diagram was made in lieu of a photograph because Foxconn prohibits employees from carrying a phone or a camera inside the factory.
According to the insider, this new iPhone will carry a 5-inch 1080 x 1920 resolution screen, which works out to a 441ppi pixel density. In addition, the rear camera will be 8MP and will be accompanied by a dual LED flash. If you want a 12MP camera, you will have to shell out for the Apple iPhone 6s Plus, says the source.
As easy as it is to dismiss the whole thing, we should remind you that it was a Foxconn insider that shot photographs of the iPhone 6 with its protruding rear camera and pronounced antenna lines in March 2014, a good six months before the phone was unveiled. So while you should go ahead and take this story with a grain of salt, you should also take away from it the possibility that we could see three iPhone models unveiled next month. That would include 4.7-inch, 5-inch and 5.5-inch versions of Apple's iconic smartphone.
One possibility does come to mind. Considering the FHD resolution of the 5-inch model, perhaps the iPhone 6c will feature a 4.7-inch HD (720 x 1280) display. The iPhone 6s would be equipped with a 5-inch FHD screen (1080 x 1920) and the iPhone 6s Plus would keep the 5.5-inch FHD display.
This will all be cleared up next month when Apple unveils its latest iPhone models. We expect this to take place on September 9th. If you haven't circled your calendar yet, do it now.
