Rumor: HTC's first smartwatch (One Wear?) may rival Motorola's Moto 360
HTC’s execs have been talking about wearables for quite a while now, and we know that the company is planning to release its first such products later this year. One of them could be a smartwatch, and it seems that HTC is already showing off demos of it in Taiwan (the company’s home country).
According to TK Tech News, the first HTC smartwatch is tentatively called One Wear, and could be released in late August, or early September. It’s said that this alleged HTC One Wear has a round design “much like the Moto 360.” HTC may offer the device in two variants - metal and polycarbonate - thus doing what Samsung is doing with its Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo.
While the details mentioned above can’t be confirmed yet, we’re almost certain of one thing: the HTC smartwatch will run Google’s new Android Wear, which was announced in March (when HTC was mentioned among Google’s Android Wear partners, alongside Motorola, Samsung and LG). Well, let’s hope we’ll have more info on this soon.
P.S.: the watch seen above isn’t an HTC product, it’s a generic watch used by Google in its Android Wear promo video.
