Report: next Apple iPhone to launch in September or October
With all the focus being placed on the upcoming Apple iPad 3, it almost seems that the next generation Apple iPhone has been forgotten. That has changed. A report on Japanese web site Macotakara says that Apple, at least for the time being, will be launching its smartphones on a fall schedule. Thus, the next-generation of the Apple iPhone will be launched this coming September or October, similar to the release of the current Apple iPhone 4S. The current model of the iPhone was rolled out early last October instead of the previous summer launch dates for the product.
The speculation of a fall release for the next Apple iPhone led BGR to repeat its earlier report that the next-gen Apple iPhone will have a newly designed antenna system. The new design has been made to prevent a repeat of the Antennagate flaw which led to the left-handed death grip and the loss of signal strength on the phone. As we recently told you, Apple has just settled a class-action suit filed by Apple iPhone 4 holders who suffered with problems relating to the placement of the antenna on the device. Besides the new antenna, the site adds that the next iPhone will have a unibody aluminum body, a characteristic of the phone expected by a few different sources.
The report fails to mention some of the other changes that are expected for the next iteration of the Apple iPhone, such as a larger screen and LTE connectivity.
