Registered Apple developers can now download iOS 7 Beta 1
If you are a registered Apple developer, you can actually go ahead and download iOS 7 beta 1 from Apple today. The devices that will accept the new OS are the Apple iPhone 5, the Apple iPhone 4S and the Apple iPhone 4. In addition, the 5th generation Apple iPod touch will also be compatible. Registered Apple developers pay $99 a year for the privilege. In the weeks ahead, registered Apple developers with the Apple iPad 2, Apple iPad 3, the fourth generation Apple iPad and the Apple iPad mini will be able to install iOS 7 beta 1 as well.
If you are a paid up registered Apple developer, more than likely you know exactly how to download and install iOS 7 beta 1. If not, you can click on the sourcelink to begin. For those iOS users who never did shell out the $99, well, you are going to just have to wait until the fall when iOS 7 is expected to launch. Most likely the timing of the release will coincide with the release of the next Apple iPhone.
Does the new OS with the new look and new features preclude Apple from making any drastic changes to the hardware on the next iPhone? Normally you might think so, but let's face it. Because iOS had never been redesigned before, we are in uncharted territory here.
