Red ones go faster: a red-colored version of the BlackBerry Passport breaks cover, coming later in 2014

BlackBerry's intriguing BlackBerry Passport is already on the shelves and, apparently, better than its maker had initially hoped for. Should you decide to opt for the unorthodox device with a QWERTY keyboard that also doubles as a trackpad, you'll have to wave goodbye to $599 of your hard-earned money.

For this sum of money, you get a 1440 x 1440-pixel 4.5” display, a 13MP rear camera, Snapdragon 801, 3GB of RAM, and a 3,450mAh, with BlackBerry OS 10.3 sprinkled atop the whole shebang. You can only get its black version at the moment, with a more premium gold edition and white-color variation already revealed, but it seems that BlackBerry has one more color option in store for the potential adopters of the Passport – a red one.

The red-colored Passport will land on the market on December 25, alongside the white version of the device, and both will retail for $599. However, both novel color version are not yet available for pre-order on Amazon, so don't hold your breath just yet.
