It was just a few days ago when we showed you a live image of the Xiaomi Mi 5s. That photo showed the front of the device, and today's leak completes the bookend effect by showing what is allegedly the back of the same model. While we were somewhat cynical about the legitimacy of the round home button seen on the picture of the phone's front panel, it just might have been done in connection with Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint reader, which will be found embedded under the screen.
A recent trip through AnTuTu revealed that the phone carries a 5.15-inch Force Touch display with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. Driving the device is the Snapdragon 821 SoC carrying a quad-core 2.15GHz CPU, and the Adreno 530 GPU. A previous leak told us to be on the lookout for two versions of the Mi 5s. One will have 3GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The other includes 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. A third model with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of flash memory has also been rumored.
A 16MP rear-camera offers an f/1.8 aperture and 4-axis OIS, and an 8MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video chats. Keeping the lights on is the 3490mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0, and Android 6.0.1 is pre-installed.
Since a previously rumored September 14th unveiling date has come and gone with no unveiling of the Mi 5s, the next rumored date for an unveiling is September 24th.
