Real world Nexus 5 leak shows Android 4.4 KitKat boot animation
Ever since we first saw the Nexus 5 pop up in that Android KitKat statue video that "accidentally" showed off the LG Nexus 5, the information about the device, or at least what we think is accurate info on it, has been coming in pretty regularly. But today, we're getting the first real world images and video of the new LG Nexus in action.
Apparently, the device was left to charge at a bar by a Google employee, so obviously someone picked it up, took pictures and tried to get into the device. Not surprisingly, the device had a pattern lock on it, so that wasn't possible. Unfortunately, the video only shows the failed attempts to crack the pattern, which is a bit useless. We would rather have seen the boot animation, because as is the boot animation seems very odd.
From the image of the boot animation, it seems to be showing the Google color blobs like you would find on an HTC One or Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition device, and not the usual "X" that should be on a Nexus device. Otherwise, the leak looks legit though, The handset looks like the leaks, and the FCC filings, and even appears to have the Nexus branding on the back, although that is obscured with a sticker.
