XDA Developers has come up with a ROM that updates the HTC Desire HD to ICS

As you already know, HTC had decided during testing that the performance of the HTC Desire HD on Ice Cream Sandwich
was not good enough for its customers. But
HTC Desire HD owners who still, ahem, desire the Android 4.0 update can thank the Brainiacs at XDA Developers. They have taken the Android 4.0.4 update meant for the
HTC Incredible S and have reworked it into a ROM for the Desire HD. Both models have similar screen resolution, rock a single-core 1GHz processor and have 768MB of RAM.
The ROM includes Android 4.0.4 with HTC Sense 3.6 running on top. And the ROM even includes a kernel that will allow you to overclock your phone. The only question remaining is whether or not the "customer experience" is as bad as HTC says it is.
Regardless of what the Taiwan based manufacturer says, if you're interested in checking out Android 4.0.4 on your HTC Desire HD, click on the sourcelink.
