Qualcomm takes $50 off the price of its Toq smartwatch for CES
Qualcomm obviously realizes that it is CES week, and in an attempt to use the annual trade show as a way to bring in some business, the company is offering a $50 CES discount on its Toq smartwatch. That drops the price of the timepiece down to $299.99. The deal will run through January 11th, so if you have an interest in the watch, now is the time to go after it.

The Toq is equipped with a Mirasol display that offers clear viewing, even in bright sunlight. The technology also allows for longer battery life, even with an always-on display. The battery life is so impressive that Qualcomm didn't even bother designing in a power button for the device. And when it is time to recharge the cell, the smartwatch offers "hassle-free" wireless charging using Qualcomm's own WiPower LE wireless charging technology. Qualcomm says that the battery lasts for days, which is an important attribute for a smartwatch to have. The device will bring you alerts, updates and messages from your Android phone right to your wrist.

At $299.99, the Qualcomm Toq now is cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Gear, despite having a longer list of features. We expect to see a large number of smartwatches launched this year, including the Apple iWatch, so this market can be quickly turned on its head. If you plan on buying a smartwatch to tide you over the next few years, you might want to wait to see how these devices evolve over the remainder of this year. Otherwise, you can order the Qualcomm Toq by clicking on the sourcelink.
