Qualcomm demoes advanced graphics with the new dual-core Snapdragon
When Qualcomm showcases the performance of the Adreno 220 – the powerful GPU found in the third generation of Snapdragon processors, it means some serious business. Graphics surpassing the details of a PlayStation 2 gaming console were demoed in a teaser video, which Qualcomm is now kindly sharing with the whole world to see. Flashy 3D effects, smoother HD gaming experience, and a higher than before level of realism are achieved through harnessing the dual-core power of the Snapdragon MSM8660 and the Adreno 220 GPU, which is claimed to deliver “twice the performance of the GPU in other leading dual-core ARM9-based chips.”
It appears that Qualcomm is sticking with Desert Winds as its flagship game for mobile devices. The same game demo could be seen on MWC at Qualcomm's booth, where the 3D action game was running on a 55-inch HD LCD display basically grabbing the attention of all bystanders. We sure hope the game will be available as soon as the third generation Snapdragon chipset finally lands in a smartphone so that we can get our hands on some scorpion-slaying action too. Check out the video below and feel free to let us know what you think of it in the comments!
