Purported HTC Butterfly sequel shows up in AnTuTu, no UltraPixels in sight

Another interesting discovery comes outof the benchmark zone. It's the purported sequel to the HTCButterfly, better known in the USA as the Verizon-exclusive HTC DroidDNA. Looking at the leaked spec sheet, it seems this phone willfinally answer the prayers of those of you who have a beef with HTC'sUltraPixel camera technology. The so-called HTC 0PAJ3 features a1080p display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU clocked at 2.3Ghz, anAdreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, a 13MP rear camera, and a 5MPfront camera. The phone runs Android 4.4.2.

Sadly, the J in the model number is adead giveaway that the Butterfly sequel is being primed for Japan. This could also explain why HTC decided to leave the 4MP UltraPixelcamera at home and pack a 13MP sensor for Japan - megapixel count israther important for Japanese customers.

If the Butterfly 2 is for real, it'sinteresting how HTC has chosen to approach its design - will it be aspin on the HTC One and (M8)'s metal armor, or something different? It's too early to know and, unfortunately, we can only speculatewhether the Butterfly 2 will reach the US market in some form, while Europe is pretty much a no-go - the original Butterfly never landed there.

Thanks for the tip!
