Press invites and teaser video go out for LG G2 event August 7th
It seems that announcement season has begun a bit early this year. Usually, we see flagship releases in the spring and fall, with only a couple big releases in the summer. But, in the next two weeks alone, we'll be seeing the announcements from Nokia, Google, Verizon, Motorola, and now LG has added its name to the list. The invite from LG says there will be a press event on August 7th in New York City.
Unlike the rest of the companies, who have been unnecessarily coy about what their press events will be about (despite general knowledge indicating what Google, Verizon, and Motorola will be announcing, and a good guess about Nokia), LG is coming right out and saying that this event is for the G2. In addition to sending out invites for the event itself, LG has released a teaser video which promises that the G2 will show how much LG has "learned from you."
LG is expecting big things from this device, claiming it will sell as many as 10 million handsets. We don't know a huge amount about the G2, but rumors have suggested it will feature a 5.2" display with a 1920x1080 resolution, impressive brightness, and a new One-Glass design to make it extremely thin.
