The web site for the Apple iPad notes in fine print at the bottom of the page that the FCC has not yet authorized the sale of the device. While Apple cannot yet sell the iPad, it can take pre-orders for the tablet, which it will do starting today at 8:30 am EST. As previously reported, Apple has announced that the tablet will go on sale on April 3rd starting with the Wi-Fi enabled version. The 16GB version will sell for $499. The 32GB model has a $599 price tag and the 64GB iPad will sell for $699. Later in April or sometime in May, the iPad model with Wi-Fi and 3G should be launched. The tablet itself will sell in the same 16GB, 64GB and 64GB versions as the Wi-Fi only models, priced at $629, $729 and $829 respectively. AT&T is expected to offer the 3G service for $30 per month. Anyone keeping a close eye on the time?
