The new Moto Z3 Play can now be pre-ordered in the US. Priced at $499.99, the phone is available on Motorola.com and comes bundled with a Moto battery pack Moto Mod that adds up to 16 hours of additional battery life. With the 24-hour battery life that the 3000mAh battery inside the phone provides and the battery pack Moto Mod, your Moto Z3 Play can run for up to 40 hours, its maker estimates.

The Moto Z3 Play carries a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080 x 2160 resolution. That works out to an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform is under the hood, carrying an octa-core CPU running at a speed of 1.8GHz. Handling graphics is the Adreno 509 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB of native storage. A 2TB capacity microSD slot is available to those seeking additional storage.

The Moto Z3 Play has a dual-camera setup on back (12MP + 5MP), and a front-facing 8MP wide-angle selfie snapper. The phone sports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and there is a facial recognition system that allows you to unlock the handset by looking at it. The Moto Z3 Play is svelte, measuring only 6.75mm thin, and thanks to the p2i nanocoating, it is protected from spills and light rain.

Also taking pre-orders for the Moto Z3 Play are retailers Best Buy and B&H Photo. Both are offering the handset for $499.99. Those pre-ordering from Best Buy and B&H receive a free smart speaker Moto Mod powered by Alexa in addition to the battery Moto Mod bundled with the phone.

If you're a member of Amazon Prime, you can pre-order the device for $449.99, a savings of $50. If you reserve a unit from Amazon, they will also toss in a free smart speaker Moto Mod on top of the bundled Battery Moto Mod.

The Moto Z3 Play works with all four major U.S.carriers. It is also compatible with several pre-paid carriers including Cricket Wireless, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, Simple Mobile, Total Wireless, Tracfone, Net10, Mint, and H2O.
