Possible LG tablet may be nearer, clears Bluetooth certification
We know that LG has been getting ready for a comeback on the tablet scene after the Android slates it launched a while ago couldn't really make a splash. And the company's next tablet offering might be nearer than you might think now that a mysterious LG device has been granted Bluetooth certification

The device in question comes in two flavors bearing the model names LG-V500 and LG-V507L. These are presumably two versions of the same tablet, but with different sets of connectivity features or bound for different carriers.

How do we know that's a tablet? Well, the "V" prefix has been used by LG in model names before. To be more specific, the LG Optimus pad was also known as the LG-V900. Moreover, note that the listing in the Bluetooth SIG database describes the LG-V500 as an "LG Mobile Device". A handset is normally listed as "phone" after it has been given Bluetooth certification.

Details about the hardware specs of this new LG device are unknown at this time. Its software version, however, might hold a clue – LAP8064JMR1R130718 is the build name listed in the filing, leading us to believe that a Snapdragon APQ8064 (aka Snapdragon S4 Pro) may be in use.

The announcement of the upcoming Android tablet by LG may be scheduled for September, during the IFA expo in Berlin. Chances are that we'll get further details about the device as the day of its unveiling nears.
