In the Summer of 2016, it was quite normal to see a group of teens and adults congregating in a certain area, face down as they stared at their smartphone screens. You could find such people standing out in the heat of the day, and in the cool of the night. These were Pokemon GO players. And while people still play the Augmented Reality game, the number of active daily users has declined sharply over the last year.

Now, a brand new mobile Pokemon game is available, and this one is made for the kiddies. Pokemon Playhouse is available for free from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. There is no capturing of pocket monsters, no fighting and the activities found on the app include grooming Pokemon, or identifying Pokemon made by the formation of stars in the night sky. While not nearly exciting enough to get adults interested in playing, it should be entertaining for Pokemon fans 3 to 5 years of age.

No math is required and reading is not necessary. The goal of the game remains to collect Pokemon. This is accomplished by completing certain activities found in the app, which causes Pokemon eggs to hatch. Once this is accomplished, a new Pokemon becomes part of the player's collection.

Download Pokemon Playhouse by clicking on the appropriate platform (iOS|Android).
