Niantic today announced that it's ready to bring
new Pokemon to Pokemon Go - its hugely popular mobile game that debuted earlier this year. For now, the company doesn't want to share specific details, but it has marked December 12 as the day when it will unveil "the first addition of more Pokemon into Pokemon Go." Last month, we heard that at least
100 new normal and legendary Pokemon could be added to the game this December, but, for now, we can't confirm this number.
In other Pokemon Go news, Niantic and Sprint have partnered "to create a special Pokemon Go experience in more than 10,500" locations across the US - including Sprint, Boost Mobile, and Sprint at RadioShack stores, all of which will become PokeStops and Gyms. Starting December 12 (after the game is updated with new Pokemon), players will be able to visit these locations and collect Poke Balls, Eggs, or Razz Berries, battle with other Pokemon, and - when needed - charge their phones for free.
The December 12 update is likely going to be the biggest to hit Pokemon Go since the game's launch, so we'll let you know all about it as soon as offiicial details are available.
