Pokemon GO update adds many new abilities for trainers

6comments

We're just a few days ahead of the first big Pokemon GO real-life event set to kick off in Chicago, United States, and Niantic has just announced its Android and iOS apps have been updated with a plethora of new features and improvements.

Most of the new features included in the update are meant to enhance trainers experience. For example, a new ability that allows trainers to spin the Photo Disc at a Gym after completing Raid Battle has been added.

Also, the update introduces a new ability for trainers to send Berries to their Pokemon defending Gyms via the Pokemon info screen when they are not nearby. If trainers opt for this method, then the motivation regained will be less effective.

Furthermore, new icons to the Pokemon information screen are now available in the game, which indicates how the Pokemon was caught. The Pokemon Collection screen search functionality has been improved as well.

One other new ability will enable trainers to give Berries to Pokemon defending Gyms if their motivation meter is full. Last but not least, the update address two major bugs:

  • Fixed an issue where Trainers were unable to complete Raid Battles started before time expired on the map view;
  • Fixed an issue where Pokémon are not properly returned to their Trainer after defending a Gym.

All the new features and bug fixes listed above should already be available for both Android and iOS players, so make sure to update to the latest Pokemon GO version to reap the benefits.
