Pokemon GO creators promise to add PvP mode by the end of the year
Pokemon GO's player base shrunk in the last several months since developer Niantic didn't add too many major gameplay features, but the release of Fortnite and PUBG Mobile also took away some of its audience.
However, Niantic is determined to win back some of the players it lost lately with the addition of the long-awaited PvP battles. Anne Beuttenmüller, Niantic's head of marketing for the EMEA region, recently said that the studio plans to add player versus mode to Pokemon GO by the end of the year.

We are constantly improving the elements that we have available in the game and the next thing that we want to add at the end of this year is the PvP mode.
Other changes that Niantic plans to implement in the coming months include some tweaks to the in-game friendship and trading features that have been added in the game two months ago.
Although we don't know for sure when exactly the PvP battles will arrive for Pokemon GO players, at least Niantic confirmed that it's working on the feature and that it's likely to go live towards the end of the year.
