Google has started shipping the Pixel Buds
Did you pre-order a pair of Pixel Buds for $159? The good news is that orders have started shipping. Unlike the wireless Apple AirPods or the Samsung IconX, both ear pieces are connected by a cable. The right earbud not only awakens Google Assistant, it also
activates the cool real time Google Translate feature. With the latter, one person wearing the Pixel Buds can speak in Spanish to someone with a Pixel phone who speaks English. Thanks to Translate, both parties will be able to hear in their own language exactly what the other person said. Right now, about 40 different languages are supported.
Some who pre-ordered the Pixel Buds are receiving email from the Google Store that says that his/her order is on the way. It also shows a timeline that at the end, lists the expected delivery date. For example, Pixel Buds that ship today are expected to arrive at the buyer's home in five to six days.
The Pixel Buds will run for up to five hours on a single charge. Using the charging case like a power bank, you can run the Pixel Buds for as long as 24 hours at a time. And the device pairs with any phone running Android Nougat or higher simply by opening the charging case.
If you have yet to order the Pixel Buds, keep in mind that new orders placed today won't ship for 5 to 6 weeks. The only color option is "Just Black." Those interested in "Kinda Blue" or "Clearly White" can arrange to receive an email when those colors are available again. To order, visit the Google Store online by clicking on this
link.
