Pixel 3 Camera app now available on Pixel and Pixel 2 smartphones
The Pixel 3 and 3 XL come with several exclusive features that will slowly be made available on other smartphones, especially those launched by Google in the past years. The new Camera app included on the Pixel 3 series wasn't available on any other smartphone until today when the app received an update.
The update brings support Pixel and Pixel 2 smartphones, so if you have one of these devices, you should check for an update to your camera app. Moreover, the update adds a new gesture that allows users to long-press on the screen to launch Google Lens on the fly.
No other improvements available on the Pixel 3 like Top Shot or Photobooth have been included in this update, but that doesn't mean that some of them won't be brought to older Pixel phones. Night Sight appears to be included in the update for Pixel and Pixel 2 devices though.
The updated Google Camera app provides users with extra info as to what mode they are using at the bottom of the viewfinder. It also allows you to switch between modes by swiping left and right, instead of choosing the right mode from the side menu.
