A teaser was posted today on Chinese social media, showing part of a pink colored LeTV smartphone. The company's CEO says that a new product announcement is being planned for next Monday, September 7th. It is possible that the pink handset is a specially colored version of an existing LeTV phone.
According to one report, a source in China says that the device is code named the X900. That would make the phone in the picture a pink colored LeTV Max. That model was already released earlier this year with a 6.33-inch (practically bezel-less) screen, carrying a 1440 x 2560 resolution. A Snapdragon 810 chipset is under the hood, and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM is employed. A 20.7MP camera (using the IMX230 sensor from Sony) is on back, and a fingerprint scanner is on board.
On the other hand, the pink phone could be an entirely new model. Either way, CEO Jia Yueting has said that the September 7th event will be about music and will "give you some color to see." It all sounds like we might see a pink LeTV Max unveiled for the ladies, well in advance of the 2015 holiday shopping season.
