Pick up an HTC Desire 816 for Virgin Mobile, $200
The conditions of the deal/s may have changed since the initial publishing of this post.
While we like to spend a lot of time salivating over the awesomeness of the latest and greatest flagship smartphones, there are a lot of middle and even lower-end devices that get us just as excited. One of those devices is the recently released HTC Desire 816.
It has been available in Europe and other markets for a few months, and it has been reasonably priced at about $400 for an unlocked unit. We have been expecting to see the Desire 816 to make a debut in the US market, and we did catch a glimpse of the device making its rounds at the FCC and it was wearing frequency bands for Sprint.
As luck would have it, the device is available, and it does operate on Sprint, through its prepaid MVNO Virgin Mobile USA. It is being sold through QVC, and the price a very reasonable $200 outright.
Considering its mid-range specs, this deal is arguable one of the better ones to come along this year so far. Running Android 4.4, and presenting you with a generous 5.5-inch 720p HD display, the HTC Desire 816 will have no trouble delivering media for your consumption. Don’t forget the front facing BoomSound speakers which means, no cupping your hands to hear the audio of that YouTube video you want to watch.
QVC is offering a $50 PrinterPix voucher as part of a package deal with the Desire 816. All the details can be found at the source link below.

Keeping everything in order is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU tuned to 1.6GHz and an Adreno 305 GPU, both more than adequate to manage most tasks. In our review of the HTC Desire 816, we were pleased with the performance, and the picture quality from the 13-megapixel main camera as well as the 5-megapixel front facing camera which lent itself to making great selfies. The battery life is solid too, and coupled with HTC’s Sense 6 user interface, it makes for a great all around experience. One of only a few criticisms we had was the limited native storage, so make sure you pick up a microSD card. Also, the device is large due to the front facing speakers, be ready to use with two hands.
