The number of (RED) iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models registered in China greatly exceeds the number of units available
In China, supply and demand for the PRODUCT(RED) Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus is way out of balance. Earlier today, we told you that Apple had produced 73,410 units of the gorgeous looking handsets for the Chinese market. Tonight, we have learned the other part of the equation. Chinese online mall JD.com's website reveals that it has more than 337,000 registrations for the launch of the (RED) iPhone models.
These are not pre-orders as no money changes hands, and no units are reserved. The (RED) Apple iPhone 7 with 128GB of native storage is priced at the equivalent of $749 USD, and the (RED) Apple iPhone 7 Plus with 128GB of data will cost the equivalent of $869 USD.
The phones will go on sale in China this coming Friday, March 24th. That is the same date when the PRODUCT(RED) Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus will be released in the U.S. With the special edition phone, a portion of the proceeds will go to AIDS research.
