According to a published report on Monday, Oppo might be joining Samsung by producing a dedicated Android flavored camera. The report says that Oppo held a briefing on the device, during which time those at the event were told that the camera would have high resolution with "true-to-form" image replication. With all of the focus (for lack of a better word) on cameras that take clear snapshots even in less than optimal lighting conditions, the Oppo Android camera is said to have a "night owl" processor to help the camera in low-light situations. Samsung, of course, offers the Android powered Samsung Galaxy NX Camera.
Oppo added that the camera will have an "innovative" design and that the UI would support creativity. Translated, that means there could be a number of native editing options on the unit. A fast shutter will allow the camera to take great action shots and the device will support a remote shutter and flash.
Considering that the Oppo Find 5 was able to build a cult following, it should be interesting to see what the manufacturer can do with a dedicated camera. No timeframe was mentioned as to when we might see the Oppo Android camera released.
