Oppo U3 price leaks; device to be unveiled tomorrow in China
Nearly a week ago, after the Oppo U3 was certified by TENAA (China's version of the FCC), we passed along some specs from the certification. At the time, one of the handset's claim to fame was that at 9mm, it reportedly would be the thinnest smartphone to sport a camera with a 4X optical zoom. On Tuesday, a tipster tweeted the latest rumored specs for the phone, and while the rumored dimensions shrunk to a thickness of 8mm, the new specs failed to mention anything about a 4X optical zoom for the rear snapper.

One new piece of information on the tweet today was a rumored price for the phone. According to the source, the Oppo U3 will be priced at the equivalent of $451 USD.

The tipster did confirm that the phone will feature a 5.9-inch screen with resolution of 1080 x 1920. We have a little more information on the silicon being employed, which will be the 64-bit octa-core 1.7GHz MT6752 from MediaTek. The 2GB of RAM on board and the 16GB of native storage are both in line with the earlier speculation. Also matching up with the earlier rumors are the 13MP rear camera and the 5MP "selfie" shooter on the Oppo U3. The phone is expected to weigh 180 grams which is 20 grams heavier than the HTC One (M8). The VOOC Rapid Charger will also be available for the Oppo U3.

The device is expected to be introduced tomorrow in China. With the time difference, we could be reporting on the unveiling of this phone as soon as tonight.
