Oppo R1C to be unveiled on Wednesday?
According to a report out of China, Oppo is about to launch a new handset this Wednesday. The Oppo R1C (model number R8207) will feature a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280. Powering the handset will be a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 CPU. 2GB of RAM is on board along with 16GB of native storage. Thankfully, a 128GB capacity microSD slot is available for those requiring more memory. A 13MP snapper is on back, with a 5MP "selfie" camera up front. The device offers 4G LTE connectivity.
This would appear to be the latest phone in Oppo's R1 series. Earlier this year, the manufacturer released the Oppo R1S which carries most of the same specs featured on the new model. The differences include the quad-core 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU that drives the Oppo R1S, and the 1GB of RAM inside the phone.
Oppo's event will be taking place just one day before Xiaomi is set to make its new product announcements. On Thursday, we expect to see the fast growing smartphone manufacturer introduce the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and possibly the Xiaomi Mi5. Photos allegedly snapped using the latter's rear camera leaked earlier this morning.
Thanks for the tip!
