Online orders for the Apple iPad Pro start November 11th; tablet hits stores later this week
Apple has announced today, that the 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro will be available for purchase from Apple's online store (Apple.com) starting on Wednesday, November 11th. Later this week, you should find the iPad Pro at physical Apple Stores, certain carrier locations, and at some authorized Apple resellers. Accessories like the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard can both be ordered starting Wednesday.
The Wi-Fi only Apple iPad Pro will be available, priced at $799, for the version with 32GB of internal storage. The Wi-Fi + Cellular model starts at $1079 and comes with 128GB of native memory. $99 will buy you the Apple Pencil, while the Smart Keyboard is priced at $169. Those seeking to protect their iPad Pro can buy the iPad Pro Smart Cover in polyurethane ($59), or silicone ($79).
Apple will also launch the tablet on Wednesday in Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cayman Islands, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greenland, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, UAE, US, UK, Uruguay and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Those purchasing the slate from a physical Apple Store will be given the opportunity to have their iPad Pro set up for them by an Apple Store rep. Before exiting the store, these customers can opt to have their email set up, and shown the latest apps from the App Store, for free.
The Apple iPad Pro features a 12.9-inch IPS screen carrying a 2048 x 2072 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 265ppi. The Apple A9X SoC is under the hood, with 4GB of RAM reportedly inside. The rear-facing camera on the iPad Pro weighs in at 8MP, and there is a 1.2MP camera that adorns the front of the unit. The battery will provide 10 hours of use between charges.
