Leaked OnePlus 6T invitation letter confirms date of smartphone's unveiling
Although the OnePlus 6T is seemingly just around the corner, the date of the smartphone’s unveiling is yet to be confirmed officially. Thankfully, an invitation letter to the smartphone’s unveiling event which confirms the exact date has leaked out.
Much like previous OnePlus 6T teasers, the new invitation contains the tagline “Unlock The Speed.” This is understood to be an indirect reference to the smartphone’s new in-display fingerprint scanner which will replace the previous rear-facing sensor. Alongside this teaser, the invitation also includes the words “OnePlus 6T Launch Event,” which naturally confirms the nature of it. Moreover, the exact date of the event is included, as is the location: October 17 in India.
The date listed was previously teased by a OnePlus 6T screenshot that was published a few weeks back. Unfortunately, OnePlus remained rather quiet on the matter. In addition to this, the fact that OnePlus is holding an event in India does confirm that the market is still hugely important to the company.
For those unaware, the OnePlus 6T is expected to come equipped with the Snapdragon 845 and the choice of either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Similarly, consumers will be able to opt for either 128GB or 256GB of storage with the latter model. Unfortunately, the 6GB of RAM variant will only be available with 64GB of storage. Completing the setup will be Android 9 Pie straight out of the box complete with the Oxygen OS 9.0 overlay on top.
