OnePlus 6 gets a fix for the battery drain issue, but only in China
The last update OnePlus pushed out to its latest flagship smartphone brought a bug that made the battery drain faster than normal. Many OnePlus 6 owners turned to the company's forums to complain about the issue, and it looks like an update that's meant to address it is now available for download.
However, the fix for the battery drain problem has been included in the HydrogenOS 5.1.10 update only, a build that's aimed at the Chinese version of the OnePlus 6. Still, this is a clear indication that the international model will get a similar update very soon as well.
In the meantime, it's worth noting that this is a rather small update that weighs in at 76MB and includes a couple of other fixes for known issues, such as the problem of unsupported games on the 18:9 aspect ratio display, and the low sensitivity of the tap to wake up function.
Although the changelog doesn't mention anything about fixing the battery issue, many OnePlus 6 owners claim the battery life improved considerably after updating to HydrogenOS 5.1.10. So, here is hoping the international version of the OnePlus 6 will get the fix sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, it's worth noting that this is a rather small update that weighs in at 76MB and includes a couple of other fixes for known issues, such as the problem of unsupported games on the 18:9 aspect ratio display, and the low sensitivity of the tap to wake up function.
